Like pearls formed through patience and depth, divine wisdom emerges from stillness and reflection. This Memorial Day weekend, we invite you to experience that discovery at our retreat Gita Panchamrit: Pearls of Divine Wisdom, where sacred teaching, meditation, and devotion will help us uncover the radiant pearls within.
Come join us as we learn from Brni. Sandhyaji the wisdom behind five key verses from the Bhagavad Gita — the Gita Panchamrit.
Our CHYK retreat is an opportunity to spend a weekend to learn, grow, and connect with a community of like-minded peers! Sessions include yoga, meditation, interactive workshops, peer discussions, nature walks, bhajan jam, Q&A, and more! View the full schedule here.
Join us and bring a friend or two along! Register before April 1st to get the early bird discount.
If you have any questions, please email us at chyk-retreat@cmsj.org. We look forward to seeing you there!

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the Gita Panchamrit?
The Gita Panchamrit is 5 selected shlokas from the Gita which explain the full spiritual path, guiding a seeker from self effort to surrender.
Will transportation be provided?
We encourage everyone to drive/carpool to Krishnalaya. We will make a spreadsheet so people can self-organize carpools. We are also exploring additional transportation options at an extra cost (up to $100) and will update everyone at a later date (after early bird deadline).
Which airport should I fly into?
Flights should be arranged to arrive before 9am on Fri May 22nd and depart after 8pm on Mon May 25th, to allow for driving time between the airport and Krishnalaya.
- Flying into San Francisco (SFO) or San Jose (SJC) is preferred over OAK.
If you have any other concerns, please reach out to us at chyk-retreat@cmsj.org if you have any questions.
Can I join late or leave early?
Yes, we can accommodate you if you're not able to join the whole time, but depending on your availability, we may or may not be able to provide transportation for you. Please reach out to us at chyk-retreat@cmsj.org for details.
What is the facility like?
Krishnalaya is a beautiful ashram nestled in the coastal mountains and giant redwood forests of Piercy, CA. The photo gallery below shows a few of the ashram's features.
What are the room accommodations like?
Attendees will be sharing cabins with around 3-4 people per cabin. Each cabin has a shared bathroom. Men and women will have separate accommodations.
What meals will be served?
We will have 3 meals of healthy sattvik food served every day and a midday snack.
What should I bring?
We encourage comfortable Indian attire as well as clothing for sports and outdoor activities. A notebook and pen/pencil are needed for our workshop activities. A more comprehensive packing list will be provided to participants before the retreat.
